Every week, Adafruit masterminds Limor Fried and Phil Torrone host a live on-air Show-and-Tell, where folks can join in and share the details of specific projects they're working on. Last week, Adafruit community member Dan shared his hard-learned tips and tricks for milling small wood pieces on an Othermill.

Dan is a self-professed newcomer to working with wood but is drawn to the material for its variety and the polished, classy look it can lend to projects. He has learned much through trial and error, and wanted to share his knowledge with the community.

During the Show-and-Tell, Dan details what types of wood work and look best, along with which types to avoid. He also offers pointers on optimal milling bits (upcut vs. downcut), touts the virtues of our bit fan, and revels in the joys of making other useful tools — like tiny sanding blocks and finishing pyramids — directly on the Othermill.

Thanks, Dan!
